Should you experience problems or have any concerns about installing the RS-1000 in your 1996 or newer vehicle, please contact our technical support group toll-free at 1-800-252-2594 or via email to support@roadsafety.com. 1995 and Older Vehicles For 1995 and older vehicles without an OBD-II diagnostic connector, you will need to order the RS-1011 Vehicle Direct Connect Wiring Harness (see above). In this case the RS-1000 will need to be "hard-wired" to the vehicle using the RS-1011 harness. Installations of this type must be performed by a qualified automotive technician and, as a result, can be quite expensive.. Road Safety does not provide technical support, documentation or answer any technical questions for "hard-wire" installations. The only documentation provided with the "hard-wire" harness is the function and color of each wire in the harness. It is up to the qualified automotive technician to determine the proper vehicle installation and connection point for each wire. Road Safety assumes no responsibility for incorrect "hard-wire" installations. For additional information regarding non-OBD-II compatibility, please call Road Safety at 805-498-9444. |
